Darren Aronofsky is an American film director,
producer, and screenwriter. His films often revolve around obsession and
surrealism, melodramatic, and disturbing elements, often based in psychological
fictions.
He became seriously interested in film, when he studying
at Harvard University. Aronofsky's debut neo-noir psychological thriller film,
titled Pi—was shot in November 1997 and released in 1998 and the film won the
Best Director award. Aronofsky made psychological drama film Requiem for a
Dream on October 2000. The film was nominated for five awards in total, winning
two, for Best Actress and Cinematography and Best Director. The film was

Fountain released on November 22, 2006. His ports psychological drama film The
Wrestler released in 2008. At the 65th Venice International Film Festival His
film The Wrestler won the Golden Lion. Film The Wrestler become Aronofsky's
highest-grossing film to that point.
Aronofsky's next film was Black Swan, which was a
psychological thriller released in 2010. Aronofsky's next film was Noah,
released in 2014, a retelling of the Bible story of Noah's Ark. Aronofsky's
