There are several actors who have pursued legal careers before or during their acting careers. Here are a few examples:

 

 

1. Rebel Wilson -

The Australian actress studied law at the University of New South Wales and worked briefly as a lawyer before turning to acting. Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson is an Australian actress, comedian, writer, singer, and producer. Wilson appearing as Toula in the SBS comedy series Pizza and later appeared in the sketch comedy show The Wedge.

 


2. Gerard Butler -

The Scottish actor studied law at the University of Glasgow before pursuing acting full-time. Gerard James Butler is a Scottish actor and film producer. After studying law, he turned to acting in the mid-1990s with small roles in productions such as Mrs Brown, the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, and Tale of the Mummy.

 


3. Ben Stein -

The American actor, best known for his role in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," is also a lawyer and worked as a speechwriter for President Richard Nixon. Benjamin Jeremy Stein is an American writer, lawyer, actor, comedian, and commentator on political and economic issues. He began his career as a speechwriter for U.S. presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford before entering the entertainment field as an actor, comedian, and game show host.

 


4. Lupita Nyong'o -

The Kenyan-Mexican actress graduated from Yale Law School in 2012, but decided to pursue acting instead of law. Lupita Amondi Nyong'o is a Kenyan-Mexican actress. She is the recipient of several accolades, including an Academy Award, and nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award.

 


5. Geraldo Rivera -

The American journalist and talk show host graduated from the Brooklyn Law School and practiced law before becoming a journalist. Geraldo Rivera is an American journalist, attorney, author, political commentator, and former television host. He hosted the tabloid talk show Geraldo from 1987 to 1998.

 


6. John Larroquette -

The American actor, known for his roles in "Night Court" and "The Librarians," earned his law degree from UCLA before turning to acting. John Bernard Larroquette is an American actor. He is known for his starring roles in the NBC military drama series "Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976–1978)", the NBC sitcom Night Court (1984–1992; 2023–present) for which he received four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series , the NBC sitcom The John Larroquette Show (1993–1996), the David E. Kelley legal drama series The Practice (1997–2002), the comedy-drama series Boston Legal (2004–2008), and the series The Librarians (2014–2018).

 


7. F. Lee Bailey -

The American criminal defense attorney played a small role in the film "The Verdict" and also appeared in several TV shows. Francis Lee Bailey Jr. was an American criminal defense attorney. Bailey's name first came to nationwide attention for his involvement in the second murder trial of Sam Sheppard, a surgeon accused of murdering his wife.

 


8. Sonia Satra -

The American actress, known for her role in the soap opera "Guiding Light," is also a certified life coach and fitness instructor with a law degree. Sonia Satra is an American actress. She is known for her roles on Guiding Light and One Life to Live.
